Weather Unit: Rain, Rain, Go Away

http://pec.jun.alaska.edu/~lovej
Weather Unit.pdf--Standards: Science and Technology
In this unit students watch weather forecasts on television and on Internet weather sites to discover the variables measured by weather forecasters. They participate in group investigations to discover ways to simulate and measure these weather variables. In groups of 2-3, students record weather variables for a specific city for a three-week period and use this data to make a three day forecast for their chosen city. The group’s data and forecast is organized using a spreadsheet, graphs, and a slide show. Each group uses a slide show to present their data to the rest of the class at the Room 19 Weather Summit.
