Anchorage Schools

As A District None, As A Science Department, ASD Has Two Large Grants (National Science Foundation), One Elementary And One Secondary, Which Will Give Opportunities To Many Teachers To Become Teacher Leaders In Science Restructuring And A Minimum Of 100 Hours To All Teachers.

Chugach Schools

During 95-96 Year Our Teachers Will Volunteer To Rotate To Different Schools And Deliver Science Units That They Have Mastered.

Copper River Schools

One Day For Staff Planning.

Denali Borough Schools

Block Schedule With Common Preparation Period (Tri-Valley School), Modified Block Schedule With Half Day Classes On Wednesday (Anderson School), These Are Done To Increase And Intensify Instructional Time.

Dillingham City Schools

A Common Prep Time Is Planned For The 1995-96 School Year.

Galena City Schools

Scheduled Grades 7-12; Classes Three Days A Week With One - One Hour, And Two - Two Hour Blocks. Allows Staff Two Double Preps A Week For In-Depth Planning.

Hoonah City Schools

Modified Rotation Block.

Ketchikan City Schools

In Process, Working With Community.

Klawock City Schools

Monday Morning Collaboration Time For One Hour. Tuesday Afternoon Staff Development Time For One Hour.

Matanuska-Susitna Borough Schools

Talkeetna And Trapper Creek (Small Rural Schools On North End Of District) Have One Early Release Day Per Week For Planning.

Mt. Edgecumbe High School

We Have 90 Minute Class Periods With Two Time Blocks Of 90 Min. Each (One On Wednesday And One On Friday) That Allows For Professional Developement. This Allows Up To 180 Minutes Per Week If Wish To Use It For Professional Developement.

Nome City Schools

Short Day Once A Month For Curriculum Development, Etc.

Northwest Arctic Borough Schools

Noorvik & Kotzebue Middle School/High School Have Block Scheduling For Staff Because Of Eisenhower Funds - We Have More Development Activities Than In Any Other Areas.

Southwest Region Schools

Extended Days Monday - Thursday With Shortened Instructional Day On Friday For Teachers To Collaboratively Plan At Two Sites. Block Scheduling At The High School Level With Built In Planning Week Between Trimesters.

Yukon/Koyukuk Schools

Fall Staff Inservice - Entire District Four Days; Other Staff Development - Six Days.

Yupiit Schools

Mini Series - Two Weeks Of High Intense Level Classes Interpressed With Activities (I.E. Weight Lifting, Basketball Toss).
