SPED Eligibility Categories

The Department of Education & Early Development has developed web-based, interactive training courses for educators and parents on special education topics.

The SPED Eligibility Categories eLearning course offers educators and parents the opportunity to:

  • Understand the specific eligibility criteria
  • Learn about accommodations and modifications for the classroom
  • Identify different types of teaching techniques
  • Gain knowledge of available community supports and assessment options

This SPED Eligibility Categories eLearning course includes all 14 categories:

  • Autism
  • Deafness
  • Dual Sensory Impairment (Deaf-Blindness)
  • Early Childhood Developmental Delay
