Mailing Lists

The files below are comma-delimited text files that can be downloaded and used to populate a database and/or create mailing labels. INSTRUCTIONS: How to put the text into Excel.

These files represent the most recent data made available to the department by the districts and schools. If an entry is incorrect, please E-mail the webmaster and inform us of the error (please be specific). We will correct the problem immediately.

Please note that this does not reflect the entire Religious & Other Private Schools population for Alaska. This only reflects the schools that have sent in forms required for exempt status which is recognized by complying with AS 14.45.100 - 14.45.130

INSTRUCTONS: How to import the text files into Microsoft Excel (2007 version)


  • Save the file from the website onto your computer.
  • Open Excel.
  • Click the Microsoft Office Button and then click Open
  • Make sure that the "Files ot type:" is All Files (*.*) before you double-click the text file that you want to import
  • Select the text file, Excel will start the Import Text Wizard
  • Under Original Data Type choose Delimited. This should be the default.
  • If the Preview window shows blank lines, choose to Start Import At Row at first row of data
  • Click Next
  • Under Delimiters, the Tab or Comma box should be checked. If not, check Comma.
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish

Note: Upon occassion an address will contain a comma within the text of the address, i.e.:&  123 Your St., Suite 234. In this instance, you'll need to manually adjust the table to include the Suite within the Address column and move City, State and Zip left accordingly.

You now have a file with the information displayed by fields.
