The purpose of the 21st Century Alaska Community Learning Center (CCLC) program is to provide competitive grants to organizations that are working in partnership within their community and schools to provide expanded learning and enrichment opportunities for children and their families outside of the regular school hours. The program is designed to target funds to high-need communities that have low achieving students and high rates of poverty but lack the resources to establish after school centers.
Competitive Grant Opportunity AVAILABLE 1/20/2012!
The Department of Education & Early Development is pleased to announce a competitive grant application for funds to support out-of-school-time programs. Under this competition, EED intends to make approximately 2-4 grant awards if congressional funding is made available to the department. Grants ranging between $50,000-$500,000 per year will be awarded. These awards will be made to organizations, school districts, parochial schools, or other public or private agencies. Grant funding would begin July 1, 2012.
Closing date for competition – 4:00 p.m. AST on Friday, March 23, 2012.
